NYC Eats

I’m planning a trip to NYC this fall, and fully intend it to be a foodcation (food vacation). I’ll be traveling with my mother…. i’m passionate about food and she loves hotels. Should be a nice mix and a great trip.

In the mean time, i’m compiling a list of places to eat when we are there. It will prob. be a 3 night trip.

Here are the contenders so far:

• The Chip Shop in Brooklyn for Fish and Chips… and maybe other fried treats
• One of the many “Ray’s Pizza” varieties
• Dim Sum at the Chinatown Brasserie (thx Seriouseats.com)
• Amy’s Bread in Chelsea Market
• Maybe dinner at The James Beard House, but probably not
• The Red Cat for Tempura fried Bacon Salad
• Wicket (or regular) Hot Chocolate from Jacques Torres
• Pecan Mudslide Cookies from Jacques Torres
• Daisy May’s BBQ for the Oklahoma Jumbo Beef Rib (deemed the Brontosaurus rib by Michael Symon)
• Peter Lugers Steak House in Brooklyn.  Claims to be rated #1 for 26 years in a row. (Added 3/10)
• Per Se – Thomas Keller restraunt.  Expensive, but might be a good cornerstone meal for the trip!
• Les Halles – Anthony Bourdain’s place.
• Butter Lane Cupcakes – from “Best Thing I Ever Ate – Classics”
• Colicchio and Sons (Tap Room?) for dinner

These are places i’ve pulled from the web and random TV shows.   I’m also thinking one of Bobby Flay’s restratuns and mabye something from Tom Colicchio.
